Swago is Swagbucks’ twist on Bingo.
Every month or so, Swagbucks present a new ‘Swago board’. Each board consists of a 5-by-5 grid of tasks – 25 in total.
You mark off a square by completing the task on the board. Once you complete a line or full house of tasks, you can submit the board and Swagbucks will credit you with bonus SB.
You MUST submit the board, otherwise you won’t get the bonus points, even if you’ve done the other tasks.
The 2 Types of Swago boards
Swago gives you up to either 50 or 300 BONUS SB, depending on the type of board.
The 300 SB board is task-orientated. You need to complete a series of missions. These usually include Gold Surveys, entering a Sweepstake, and reaching your Daily Goal.
These task-orientated Swago boards are usually harder to do and take longer. You do get a much bigger bonus though, and you get the SB from doing each individual task.
As well as the 300 SB bonus for a full house, Swagbucks gives you spins on its ‘Spin and Win’ game. Most of the time you’ll win free Sweepstake entries, which aren’t worth much. Other prizes include ‘swag ups’ – double SB on your next survey completion or search win, for example.
The 50 SB Swago board is shop-related. Each grid has the name of an ecommerce store listed in the Swagbucks Shop. You visit each store by clicking on the square. If you go on to buy something from the store then you’ll also get cashback in the form of Swagbucks.
You don’t have to buy anything from the store to complete the Swago board – just visit it. You need the Swagbutton (a browser extension) installed to activate some squares. When the store opens, a button to active cashback should appear. Click the button to activate cashback and mark off the Swago square.
Won’t doing Swago stop me getting cashback from TopCashBack or Quidco? I don’t want to have the Swagbutton browser extension tracking my browsing!
Good spot – by doing Swago, stores will track cashback to Swagbucks, not your preferred site. Swagbucks doesn’t usually have the best cashback rates compared with TopCashBack and Quidco.
You could clear your cookies after you have marked off all the squares. That will avoid any chance of sites tracking cashback to Swagbucks.
Even better, don’t use your main browser for Swagbucks. That’ll let you click the squares without affecting cashback in your main browser. You can install the Swagbutton for your ‘Swagbucks’ browser without affecting your main browser.
The best way to do this is to create a new browser profile in Chrome which isolates all your Swagbucks work.
Is Swago worth doing?
The ‘Shop Edition’ Swago boards take about 2 minutes for a 50 SB reward. That’s worth about 30p – not much, but an effective rate of pay of £9/hour. The 50 SB will also contribute towards your Daily Goal, adding another 10% to 20% on top.Is #swagbucks a waste of time? The ‘task’ Swago boards take longer, and sometimes unpredictably so. If you can complete the tasks without too much trouble then it will be worthwhile. The 300 SB reward and the wins from the Spin and Win game make doing tasks much more profitable.
How will I know when there’s an active board?
Regular users will see a small promo badge on the Swagbucks homepage. Click this and it will take you to the latest board.
Swago boards are also promoted in the Swagbucks blog, social media feeds and in your messaging.
